The health and safety of our employees is our top priority. Due to the pandemic, all our employees are working remotely and we will be conducting candidate interviews by video. This position will be required to be on client site 2-3 days a week once the COVID-19 crisis has abated.


Here’s what you’ll do in this role:

  • Develop, maintain, enhance, document, and support Enterprise Data Models for custom built application solutions.
  • Lead the SDLC process in order to create logical data model, data mapping, and data lineage when needed.
  • Process Data Model Change Request (DMCR).
  • Produce required conceptual, logical, and physical database design documentation.
  • Create and maintain test and production data manipulation language (DML).
  • Responsible for basic documentation (e.g. required physical database design), tracking, controlling, and prioritizing open projects.
  • Collaborate with decision makers, system owners and end users to determine business objectives and goals to create the design of relational physical and logical transactional databases and dimensional models, assist with identifying data sources, data movement, interfaces, and analytics with the goal of ensuring data quality.
  • Screen, verify, and enforce data usage and table/column naming standards.
  • Publish and manage table/column naming standards.
  • Design database objects, such as columns, indexes, tables, and views.
  • Work with Database Administrators and other staff to resolve data issues, and to ensure the highest possible degree of data integrity.
  • Administer and participate in Data Model ScoreCard evaluation.
  • Lead conceptual and data analysis regarding database design.
  • Collaborate and influence subject matter experts, business/data analysts and data architects to create data modeling deliverables.
  • Resource in the use of enterprise data, including guidance in understanding and exploitation of the underlying data and business models, and identifying optimal data sourcing and mapping.
  • Deliver standard data deliverables, ensuring adherence to corporate standards and definitions. Mentor less experienced Data Architects. This may include reviewing work for adherence to standards, and provide coaching guidance.


Your qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or other computer related field and at least eight years of experience in relational database/dimensional technology including data modeling (logical and/or physical), IT applications development, technical development, or any equivalent combination of training, experience, and ability.
  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge and application of DB2 and SQL transactional database concepts.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of data warehouse database concepts and structures.
  • Understanding of columnar data storage systems
  • Advanced skills to debug and dig deeply into one specific task to uncover root cause and provide solution(s).
  • Expert understanding of physical/logical data modeling, database design principals, programming, and a system development lifecycle.
  • Advanced knowledge of development of a data strategy and associated policies to apply innovative business solutions.
  • Proven ability to plan, organize and work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence those that are not direct reports.
  • Demonstrated experience in collaborating.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
